1920年（大正9年）3月、丸美産業は材木商として創業しました。
以来、つねに挑戦を繰り返し、ときに失敗しながら、
資材、戸建、マンションへと事業を拡げ、今日に至りました。
100周年を迎えるにあたり、戦争を乗り越えて礎を築いた先人に感謝するとともに、
丸美を支えてきた挑戦する精神を改めて社員一人ひとりの胸に刻むために、
ルーツである材木で記念のマリンバを製作するプロジェクトを立ち上げました。
それは、世界中の製作者が研究を重ねてたどり着いた「マリンバにはローズウッド」
という常識を覆す挑戦でもありました。
専門家たちの知恵と技術に助けられて、2019年11月、
ついに南米原産のウッドデッキ用木材イペを鍵盤にしたマリンバが完成したのです。
In March 1920, Marumi Sangyo was established as a lumber dealer.
Since then we have repeatedly taken on challenges, and despite the occasional failure, we have expanded our
operations to materials, housing construction and condominiums, which is where we are today.
As we prepare to mark the completion of a century, to have every one of our employees imbue themselves
anew with the spirit of challenge that has supported Marumi together with expressing thanks to our
predecessors who overcame war and laid our foundations, we have launched a project to fashion a
commemorative marimba out of the lumber that represents our roots.
This is also a challenge to upend the conventional wisdom arrived at through research amassed by makers
around the world that "marimbas must use rosewood."
With the help of the knowledge and skills of experts, in November 2019 we completed a marimba whose bars
are made of South American ipe lumber for wooden decks.
